Details:
Persistence homology is one of the main tool of the blooming field of Applied Algebraic Topology. Its aim is to do constructions related to Morse theory computable in practice and usable in other sciences, notably for data analysis. The idea of persistence homology have also found nice applications in symplectic geometry recently. We will give a review of the ideas behind persistence homology and some of its challegnes and relations to sheaf theory.
