KolloquiumGRK C∗-algebras and spectra of weighted composition operators |
Speaker:Prof. Bartosz Kwaśniewski, University of Bialystok
Organizer:Fakultät für Mathematik und Informatik
Details:
The theory of operator algebras stems from operator theory and it often
draws on dynamical systems. In this talk we would like to go in the opposite
direction and show how C∗-algebraic methods and the results from modern
theory of C∗-algebras can be applied to explain spectral phenomena of an
important class of operators related to dynamical systems.
This will be a good opportunity to introduce such important construc-
tions as cross product, Cuntz algebras and Cuntz-Krieger algebras, and
relate the spectral analysis of their elements with ergodic theory and ther-
modynamical formalism.
