Details:
Every finite-dimensional vector space has a canonical Euler vector field. We will discuss a generalization of this concept, the Euler-like vector fields, to Non-linear cases. This new concept provides us with new proofs of some of famous results such as Darboux’s theorem in differential geometry and Morse lemma in geometric analysis. We also discuss the notion of deformation to the normal cone; this deformation space provides an equivalence between the Euler-like vector fields and tubular neighborhood embeddings.
