Anosov subgroups are a rich class of strongly undistorted subgroups of higher rank semisimple Lie groups, which share many geometric properties with Fuchsian and Kleinian groups. After introducing and motivating the notion, I will discuss relations between orbit growth rates and Hausdorff dimension for hyperconvex Anosov subgroups, a rich subclass defined through an additional transversality requirement. Joint work with Sambarino and Wienhard.
