Bounded cohomology of groups is the
cohomology of the bounded dual of the standard
cochain complex. Bounded cohomology has various
applications in group theory and manifold topology.
A powerful method to compute bounded cohomology is
based on amenable or boundedly acyclic actions.
In this talk, I will survey recent developments
and discuss the case of Thompson's group T. This
is based on joint work with Francesco Fournier-Facio
and Marco Moraschini.
