Poisson summation is a powerful tool that plays an important role in several areas of mathematics. Relatively recently, motivated by questions about quasicrystals, it was discovered that there exist "exotic" summation formulas for the Fourier transform.
I will describe a new construction of such exotic summation formulas that is based on the properties of weakly holomorphic modular forms on the Hecke group.
The talk is based on a joint work with Maryna Viazovska.
