Aim of the talk is to show how the examination of boundary value problems on nice noncompact manifolds can help to obtain well-posedness results on singular domains, e.g. domains with (oscillating) conical singularities. This is joint work with Bernd Ammann (Regensburg) and Victor Nistor (Metz).
