From anterior thalamic cell types to cognition
European Neuroscience Institute Göttingen (ENI-G)
Dheeraj S. Roy, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Physiology & Biophysics at the University at Buffalo, where he leads the Roy Lab. His group studies how the thalamus and distributed cortical–subcortical circuits support cognition, combining in vivo systems neuroscience with computational modeling plus human organoids, with relevance to disease. Roy trained with Susumu Tonegawa at MIT (PhD) and completed postdoctoral work at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. His research helped establish that memory engrams span brain regions and can be reactivated in disease models, including work in Nature and Nature Communications.
