Knowledge isn’t only found in books—it’s also embedded in our practices: in the tools we use, the movements with which we use them, and the things we create with them. Much of this is best learned by trying it out yourself. The workshop series “Practices” offers this opportunity: practitioners from a wide range of fields share their expertise and guide participants in trying out various techniques.

The Magical Minds of Sea Walnuts – Crocheting Workshop
The sea walnuts are animals that looks like shimmering blobs of jelly with rainbow colors. They are often referred to as come jellies, but they are not true jellyfish at all. Instead, they have a unique kind of nervous system called “nerve net” and scientists think that it may have evolved independently from other animal’s brains.

In this workshop, we will make their unique neural network with yarn and a crochet hook. By stitching neural nets, we will explore how their magical minds work: How their brain is organized and how different it is from our brain.
No crochet experience required. Just curiosity for a magical brain of come jellies!

Meeting point: The meeting point is at the information desk on the ground floor. Please store your bags in the lockers beforehand. The workshop begins promptly at 14:00 p.m.
