TZID:Europe/Berlin UID:event-1749187645901@events.goettingen-campus.de LOCATION:Max-Planck-Institut für Dynamik und Selbstorganisation (MPIDS) - Prandtl Lecture Hall and Zoom Meeting ID 959 2774 3389 Passcode: 651129 CONTACT:Prof. Eberhard Bodenschatz\, eberhard.bodenschatz@ds.mpg.de CATEGORIES:research DESCRIPTION:Clouds are one of the most important components of the atmosphere. They interact with solar and infrared radiation\, thus influencing the energy budget of the Earth-Atmosphere system\, and determine the hydrological cycle. However\, our knowledge about cloud pro-cesses is still limited\, also in the sense that there is no “general theory of clouds”\, which makes it difficult to represent clouds in models in a meaningful or even consistent way. \nIn the talk I will give a short overview about common approaches to represent cloud pro-cesses in models on different scales\, and also some new results and ideas for consistent cloud models.\n\nTitle: MPI-DS Colloquium: How to represent clouds in models?\nSpeaker: Prof. Peter Spichtinger\nOrganizer: Max-Planck-Institut für Dynamik und Selbstorganisation\nHost: MPI-DS\nContact: Prof. Eberhard Bodenschatz\, eberhard.bodenschatz@ds.mpg.de\n URL:https://events.goettingen-campus.de/event?eventId=1749187645901 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
