Feynman categories and their applicaitions
18.5.2017, 16:15 - 17:15

Location:Mathematisches Institut, Bunsenstr 3-5SitzungszimmerGras Geo Map
Organizer:Mathematisches Institut
Details:
Feynman categories are an abstract framework to deal with structures that support a plethora of operations. The original motivation for these came from generalizations of operadic structures that are prevalent in geometry, topology and algebra, with moduli spaces yielding a prime examples. After their introduction, other uses have become apparent and are currently being developed, like their use in number theory, quantum field theory and logic. We will start with the basic definitions and discuss motivational examples before progressing to the intended applications and newer developments.
